Jean-Jacques Rajter, MD

Dr. Rajter was born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium. After completing high school, Dr. Rajter immigrated to the United States with his family. He attended Temple University where he graduated Summa cum Laude. He completed his medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He subsequently completed his Internal Medical residency training at MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. His Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine fellowships were performed at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, where he also served as Chief Fellow.

After completion of his fellowships, Dr. Rajter remained on faculty at Drexel University College of Medicine, as an Assistant Professor training countless Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine residents in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Dr. Rajter moved to South Florida in the fall of 2006. He holds privileges at Broward Health Medical Center, Holy Cross Hospital, Kindred Hospital of Fort Lauderdale and HealthSouth Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital. He also has a thriving outpatient practice. In addition to English, Dr. Rajter also speaks French and Flemish.

Dr. Rajter is engaged in educating future physicians. He is active in the training of the Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Residents at Broward Health Medical Center, who spend several one month rotations with him on both inpatient service and in his outpatient office during their three years of medical training.

Dr. Rajter serves as a speaker for GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca and Forest Laboratories, as well as serves on Advisory Boards for Pfizer.

Dr. Rajter has held many leadership positions, including: Served as Chief Medical Information Officer for Broward Health, Member of Critical Care Committee at Broward Health Medical Center, Member of Utilization Review Committee at Broward Health Medical Center and serves as a reviewer for Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Rajter is also a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physician, American College of Physicians, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Broward County Medical Association, and Florida Medical Association.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Rajter enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys travel, especially cruises, as this provides him uninterrupted time with his wife and children. He is active in the Jewish community in downtown Fort Lauderdale, where he is one of the founding members of the Jewish Children’s Educational Center.


Juliana Cepelowicz Rajter, MD

Dr. Cepelowicz was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr. Cepelowicz always wanted to follow the footsteps of her grandfather, Professor Rubem Tabacof, a nationally renowned cardiologist in Salvador, Bahia. To that end, Dr. Cepelowicz completed training at one of Brazil’s premier medical schools “Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.” She immigrated to the Unites States and completed her Internal Medicine residency training at MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. Her Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine fellowships were performed at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.

Dr. Cepelowicz has a passion for sleep medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine. She scored at the 99th percentile (above 99% of her peers) on the national accreditation exam. She holds privileges at Broward Health Medical Center, Kindred Hospital of Fort Lauderdale and HealthSouth Sunrise Rehabilitation Hospital. In addition to English, Dr. Cepelowicz also speaks Portuguese.

Dr. Cepelowicz co-authored several publications including peer reviewed articles with Dr. Sanjeev Kothare, interim director of the Center for Pediatric Sleep Disorders at Harvard Medical School and with Dr. Allan Tunkel, Associate Dean for Medical Education at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Cepelowicz is a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physician, American College of Physicians, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Broward County Medical Association, and Florida Medical Association.

Dr. Cepelowicz is a dedicated mother of 2 children. She enjoys time off work playing with her children. She is involved as an active PTA member and volunteers on the Student Advisory Council.
